Back to running after baby number two

Sarah*, 34, Formby ยท 4 sessions over 12 weeks
Woman out for a run

Eighteen months after her second baby, Sarah still leaked every time she ran. Her GP said it was normal after two children but recommended seeing a pelvic health physio. She had stopped running and could no longer jump on the trampoline with her kids.

1
How it started
Leaking on every run. Stopped exercising.
2
What I found
A pelvic floor that was tight, not weak.
3
What we did
Relaxation first with breathwork and soft tissue release, then graded strength and a return to running plan.
4
Where she is now
Running 5k with no leaks.
Never did I think that my pelvic floor was working too hard. After Rhian examined me, she explained my pelvic floor muscles were overactive and this was making them weak. We worked together to improve how they functioned, and I followed a plan designed to get me back to running and jumping without the worry I might leak.
